Day 01: Arrival Madurai & transfer to hotel

Arrival at airport or railway station followed by transfer to hotel in Madurai. Followed by half day sight seeing of Madurai visiting: Sri Meenakshi Temple, Thirumalai Nayaka Palace and Mahathma Gandhi Museum. Evening Dinner in Hotel. (Overnight at Hote in Madurai)

DAY 02: In Madurai (Day return excursion to Rameshwaram)

After breakfast drive to Rameshwaram. On arrival proceed for a sight seeing of Rameshwaram, where you can visit the magnificent corridors formed by closed ambulatories flanked by continuous platform, with massive pillars on each side of a sunken pathway, and brackets corbelled to the point where they almost join. Executed like Madurai Sri Meenakshi Temple on unitary plan, Rameshwaram offers an awesome spectacle of corridors varying in width from 17 to 21 feet with a height of 27 feet and a length of 671 feet. The God Ramanathaswamy is worshiped in the form of shiva always accompanied by Parvati. This place seems the grandes of all Dravidian conceptions because it is Literally at the end of your journey; your next landfall would be Sri Lanka. After visiting return back to Madurai. ABOUT RAMESHWARAM: Rameshwaram is significant for the Hindus as a pilgrimage to Benaras is incomplete without a Pilgrimage to Rameshwaram. The presiding deity is the Linga Of Sri Ranganatha, which happens to be one of the twelve Jyotirlingas of India. Rameshwaram is also popularly referred to as the 'Benaras of the south'. In order to attain Moksha it is believed that the visit to Rameshwaram is mandatory.
