Thousand Lights Mosque
Thousand Lights Mosque Built in mid-1800 in the land donated by Nawab Wallajah, this mosque last rebuilt in 1981, has two 64' tall minarets. The mosque also houses a library, a burial ground and guesthouses. It is called the Thousand Lights Mosque because of the legend that over one thousand lamps had to be used to light up the Assembly Hall that stood at this same spot. This multi-domed mosque, with sayings from the Holy Koran painted on its walls, comes alive during the annual Moharram
 
 
 
Big Mosque -Triplicane
Big Mosque -Triplicane Built in 1795, this mosque is one of the most attractive ones in South. It lies on the Walajah road and is built of grey granite rather than wood of steel. Referred to as the Big mosque (for obvious reasons) it was built by the Wallajah family in 1795 in memory of the Nawab. The Prince of Arcot is closely associated with this shrine even today. Built without steel or wood, this magnificent edifice at Triplicane is the most important Muslim shrine in Chennai.

Masjid Mamoor
The Masjid Mamoor, a mosque sacred to Muslims Mannady was first built in the 18th century, and later reconstructed in granite by the Nawab of Arcot's family in the late 19th century. Recent architectural additions are the unique two-pillar supports and the outer walls. Over five thousand worshippers can be accommodated in this mosque at a time. Location at Angappan Naicken Street, Muthialpet, Chennai.

450 years back here lived a Muslim Saint known as Baba Hazrath Seyed Moosa Kadiri who preached Universal Brother-hood. His final resting place at Anna Salai, Chennai attracts people of all faith and in all works of life.
 
 
 
Hazarat Baba Darga
This Muslim Saint Hazarat Baba's real name was Hazrath Dastageer Sahib Baba. It is nearly 300 years since his demise. He has fore seen his death and has told his disciples not to conducts the Janaza (Funeral) prayers under any other Imam. Baffled disciples were much delighted when the Baba himself appeared and dis-appeared after conducting his own Janaza prayer.
 
 
 
Moti Baba Darga
Popularly known as 'Moti Baba Darga' This is the final resting place of Muslim Saint Hazrat Khaja Gulam Dasthagir Moti Baba. His Tile is Qutub- E - Aqtab Moti Baba.It is one of the most important durgas. Moti Baba became a friend of Hazrath Kader Wali of Nagore. He came to Chennai from Nagapattinam & lived with Janab H. A. G. Dastagir Sheriff & Family at 422, Pantheon, Road, Egmore , Chennai- 8. He breathed his last in same place in 1959. Saint of great spiritual heights he did his best for the upliftment of mankind. His anniversary of Kandoori Urs (known as 'Sandana Koodu') is celebrated during Hijra Era Dul-Haj month 25th & 26th every year. Special prayers are held on every Thursday & Sundays in the Darga at 7 PM.
 
 
 
Quadri Baba Darga
An inscription in this Darga says 'Seyed Baba Quadri Sha 1793 - Hazaraj Rabbani Baba Shah Quadri - 1793 Maqam' except this there isn't much information about this much revered Muslim saint fondly called by people a Quadri Baba. Simple and small this darga under the shady trunks of an old tree attracts people from all walks of life.
 
 
 
Thameem Ansari Baba Darga
A devoted follower of the words and deeds of prophet Muhammad (P.U.B) He was born in Medina. Soon after his demise, and as per his last wish, his mortal remains were put in a coffin and immersed in the sea. However, it reached the shores of Kovalam beach. Thus came into being the holy shrine of the muslim Saint Thameem Ansari Baba. The first thrusday after full moon day is observed as a day of devotion. Durgah is open from 5.00 a.m to 10.00 p.m.
 
 
 
Mohammed Ismail Sahib
Reverently called by all the people as Quaid-E-Millath was Born on 5-6-1896 at Pettai. Tirunelvely Dist. He became the Madras Presidency President of Indian Union Muslim League in 1945 and rose to the level of All India President in 1948. He made his mark as an excellent Parliamentarian first as the member of the Legislative Assembly and later as member of Parliament (Lok Sabha). He left for his heavenly abode on 5-4-1972 and is laid to rest in the Triplicane Grand Mosque Campus.
